About us
The founding of Melville Mariners Tee-ball can be traced back to the 60s when a small group of dedicated parents and community members who recognised the need for a recreational sports program for young children in the area.
The founding members worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where children could learn the fundamentals of baseball while having fun and making friends. We still follow this philosophy today.

Tee-ball is an inclusive team sport that is very similar to the game of baseball and softball but with no pitching and the ball being hit from a stationary tee, hence the name Tee-Ball. The tee is adjustable to suit the player and the diamond is reduced in size from baseball specifications by one-third. It is played between the ages of 4 through to 12 and is a sport that lets every child have a go in a supportive and structured environment.
